The final part of the Cyclist Badge was to go on, under observation, a short ride to show that you
are able to ride safely and confidently. This took the form of a cycle along the Brampton Valley Way on what was
a very wet and windy weekend. The weather obviously put many off as only one hardy Cub turned up. Nevertheless,
he was still determined to complete his badge. It was dry when we set out, although a little chilly, but the
exercise soon warmed us up. We had given ourselves 2 hours for the cycle so after the first hour we turned around
and retraced our tracks. At this point the rain started and was to stay with us all the way back. Together with a head
on wind, it made the return journey a lot tougher and rather unpleasant at times. In the end, we completed over 13 miles,
so it was a good effort under the circumstances. Well done.
