Very quiet in the morning, but everyone was up by 8am. For most, this was the first experience of proper camping and they did remarkably well at
sorting themselves out. Breakfast of cereal and bacon, eggs, beans. Inspection was at 10am followed by flag break and a quick Scouts Own, with
each Scout saying a sentence or two that they had written themselves. The rest of the morning was spent deciding on a Patrol name and creating 5 camp gadgets.
A quick lunch of hot dogs took us up to the cycling for the afternoon. The route was mainly off road and took us around Mugdock Country Park. A few
steep hills on the way, but nothing too serious. There was a chance for a short break at the visitor centre. Unfortunately one Scout got a puncture
on the way back and as the pump provided didn't fit, he started pushing the last 2km, home but was picked up by the car shortly after. Dinner was
corned beef hash followed by rice pudding. A little free time was given to the Scouts before the evening's activity which was crate climbing with James.
All had 2 goes, the highest getting to 9 crates. The Scouts were still fairly tired, so a hot drink and then off to bed by 10pm.
